Love in Action

In order to truly live out our mission to transform lives, we are called to reach out in loving service and to be God’s hands and feet to those in need, in our congregation, our community….and beyond!

Our local community partnerships:

Family Promise in Anoka County: We proudly partner with over a dozen other churches to provide shelter at Lord of Life for homeless families, serve meals, and provide a day center so these families can search for stable employment and/or housing. We also raise funds to support this initiative.

Youth First Community of Promise: We provide gym space, meals and financial support to at-risk kids and their families through Youth First.

Adopt-a-Family/Stepping Stone: Our adults and youth help families and individuals in need each Christmas season by donating money and gifts for families. We happily give gifts, gift cards, household supplies, prayers and love in hopes of shining a light on the true meaning of Christmas for these families.

$1 Clothing Sale: Our congregation gathers clothing once a year in order to host a clothing sale where anyone can fill a grocery bag with clothes for just $1.  All the proceeds are donated to the ACBC food shelf.

ACBC Food Drive: We support the ACBC throughout the year by collecting food, money and personal items for those in need.

Prayer Quilts: We make, pray over, and donate hundreds of quilts to those in need.

American Red Cross Blood Drives are hosted here at Lord of Life 2-4 times per year.

Ruby's Pantry: Our congregation sponsors a food distribution pop-up every 4th Friday of the month with a mission to help individuals and families stretch their food budgets and reduce the amount of food waste that occurs every day. You'll find our volunteers greeting, sorting food received via semi from the Ruby's Pantry warehouse into shares; and loading vehicles with a food bundle of perishable and non-perishable food.

Our global partnerships:

Our kids, youth and families pack meals at Feed My Starving Children, sponsor children in third world countries through Compassion International, travel across the world on mission trips through Christian Veterinary Mission and Bega Kwa Bega, travel across the US on mission trips through Mission Discovery, and respond to global disasters through Lutheran Disaster Response when they arise. We also support missionaries across the globe through ELCA Young Adults in Global Mission.

Get Involved

Come feel the spirit move within you as you do God's work serving those in need! We are always looking for volunteers to help serve the various organizations that we support.
